ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
INQUEST ON BRIDGE VICTIMS. An inquest into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Thomas Andrew Nicholson, aged 52, manager of the Linton Coal Company, and Alan Timpany, aged 38, secretary of -the company, who lost their lives on the night of June 24, when the car in which they were returning to Invercargill from Ohai crashed through the railing of the Fairfax bridge into the Aparima River, was concluded at Otautau before the coroner, Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M. The coroner returned a verdict that death was due to drowning caused when a sedan car, driven Jby Timpany, crashed through the Fairfax bridge into the Aparima River and was completely submerged. HEAD INJURIES. Hoad injuries caused through a tall while at work were received by John Imrie, an accountant, single, aged 49, yesterday. Imrie, who resides at Currie street, Port Chalmers, was admitted to the Hospital at 12.20,
