GREAT PACIFIC AIR ROUTE
OMISSION OF PALMERSTON NORTH CRITICISED fFu United Press Assouatiow.! • WELLINGTON, July 16. 7 The decision of the Transport Board to exclude Palmerston North from the route of the Great Pacific Airways was criticised to-day by the Mayor or Wellington (Mr T. 0. A. Hislop), who said that the decision would seriously lessen the value of the services to Wellington and to the southern, portion of the North Island. Mr Hislop also remarked upon" the fact that the decision was arrived at after deliberation in camera, and that the request of the Wellington City Council .to be given an opportunity to protest against any alteration of the Great Pacific Airways route as determined in the first decision of the board was not acceded to though the board under the Act was required to take into account representations of local authorities and other public, bodies.
