LYTTELTON BY-ELECTION
THIRD CANDIDATE POSSIBLE Mr D. W. Russell, a Christchurch' barrister and solicitor, has been asked by a deputation of Lyttelton electors to stand, as an Independent candidate in. the approaching Lyttelton by-elec-tion. Mr Russell has not yet decided whether he will accept the nomination, but he is considering the matterj and will announce his decision within aI day or two (says the ‘Press’). Mr Russell is a sou of the Hon. G.W. Russell. , He was an unsuccessful candidate for the North Canterbury Hospital Board at the recent municipal elections, standing in the (interests of the Christchurch Citizens’ Association* Ho is a resident of Cashmere Hills. So far three candidates _ have bee< announced for the by-election—Mr M, E. Lyons (National Political Federation), Mr T. H. M'Combs, (Labour L and Mr E. L. Hills (Independent Labour).
