GRAND'S NEW PROGRAMME
‘ LOTTERY BRIDE' AND WESTERN DRAMA Abounding in bright and tuneful music and excellent humour, the fastmoving musical comedy, ‘ Lottery Lover,’ which is one of two films to commence a season at the Grand tomorrow morning, makes first-class lightentertainment. At the beginning of the story the action takes place on. board a warship and later a party of sailors are seen in Paris, where they become enmeshed in a revue company. The plot moves at a rapid pace with numerous complications and interest is maintained throughout. Of the many catchy songs which are introduced perhaps the best are ‘ Close Yonr Eyes and See ’ and ‘ There’s a Bit of ,h!areo in You.’ Heading a particularly * tgjejtfeted cdsv aco’ 'Lew AfSis,- Pat Patterson, Reginald Denny, and Alan Dinehart.
One of Zane Grey’s latest and most thrilling novels, ‘ West of the Pecocs,’ has been brought vividly to the screen. With many tense and exciting incidents the_ story moves at a fast paca and the interest is strongly maintained until the ' unexpected climax. The strong tension is. admirably relieved with touches of whimsical humour, while a fascinating romance is unfolded with the powerful drama. Richard Dix gives a virile performance in the principal part. He receives sound support from Martha Sleeper and Fred Kohler.
