TROLLY BUS PROPOSAL TRAMS OUT OF BATE [Fix Uhitid Pksss Associatiok.] NEW PLYMOUTH, July 1. A proposal That the New Plymouth tramways should be replaced by trolly buses was placed before,.the Borough Council to-night by Cr F. S. Grayling. The scheme was referred to the Tram-, ways Committee for investigation. Tramways were being recognised as out of date all over the world, said Cr Grayling. Though the, system at New Plymouth had given good service, the streets and tram tracks in; the near future would require ah extensive and costly overhaul. He thought the time appropriate to consider the installation of trolly buses. Cr Staint'on indicated that the cost of the change would be about £50,000., He stated that the change could .be made in sections. , > The proposer of the scheme urged that the change would mean substantial economy.
