LOSS OF TRAMWAY REVENUE [Pk Unitbd Pars* Association.! AUCKLAND, July 2. The failure of the power from Arapuni last Friday night was discussed by the Transpoi-t Board to-day, when it was reported that the trams had been prevented from running 602 miles at the most profitable hour. The whole service had been completely disorganised, and the loss of revenue was £lO6. It is not this one stop that is worrying me,” said Mr J. A; C. Allum. “ That was unavoidable, but there were four stoppages last month.” He said it seemed that until the Public Works Department was out of the wood at Aranuni the board should strongly support any proposal the Powp' - Board might make to have the King’s wharf station (stand-by plant) kept open. Another member stressed the serious inconvenience caused to the public and business fix-ms. No action was taken.
