FREW’S BLUE CROSS HOSPITAL. IS IT TO CLOSE? Since the opening of FREW’S BLUE CROSS HOSPITAL early in February of this year. about 140 animals have been treated for various diseases common among Cats and Dogs. This Hospital deserves the support of the Cat and Dog owning community, and if kindness to animals counts for anything it must be hard to find a person so untiring of his duties as Mr Frew. His happy family of patients speaks volumes for his sympathetic treatment of them. Mr Frew deserves success 'for his enterprise. Not only has he obtained the supervision of the hospital by a qualified Veterinary Surgeon, B.Sc., F.R.C.Y.S.. and a Radiologist for X-rays, but he has given up his time to a worthy cause—a cause which many people may not understand. Apart from operations, dressing wounds, keeping the hospital clean and tidy, there are many other duties to attend to. Every precaution' is taken to avoid an outbreak of distemper and any suspected case is isolated before being admitted to the dogs’ quarters. Tho Hospital is a two-storied brick building, and consists of a theatre and thirteen cat £ens downstairs, and the upstairs portion 21 large and well-ventilated dog kennels. The cost of running the hospital is fairly heavy, food and drugs, which are of the very best, being the principaUfactors. Further support from tho animal owners is urgently required to keep the Hospital open. Will you help? SPECIAL SALE OF CARPETS. 7 only ,9ft s 7ft 6in AXMINSTER. Usually £6 15s.
