Considering that his honour was impugned by ex-Mayor Godin’s open letter on the eve of his election to the mayoralty of Paris, ex-Poliee Chief Chiappo fought a duel with M. Godin with pistols before breakfast in a private garden in the Bois do Boulogne. M. Chiappo wounded M. Godin in the leg, and the contestants departed without a reconciliation. • BOROTRA’S DUEL OFF. PARIS, June 29. The seconds stated that the Borotra duel is “ off.” _ M. Poulain announced that ho never intended to throw doubts on Borotra’s sportsmanship.
