ORGANISATION OF DEMOCRAT PARTY CANDIDATES TO BE ANNOUNCED IN AUGUST “ The organisation in the North Island has been completed, and the majority of candidates chosen,” said Mr A. E. Davy, the dominion organiser of the Democrat Party, this morning. “In Christchurch an office has been established, and organisers appointed, while several excellent candidates in the city and country electorates have offered their services. “ In Dunedin, where our organisa- , tion has been, moribund for some months, it is our intention to engage one, and possibly two, organisers to at onfie commence active work,” continued Mr Davy, who added that candidates as far south as Awarua had offered their services to the party. It was not the intention of the party to publish a list of candidates till the first or second week in August. A conference of condidates to select a leader and to complete tho policy would take place in Wellington not later than the second week in August. Mr Davy claimed that never in the last 30 years had a body of men of such' fine type as the Democrat Payty had iii its ranks been offered to tho public to represent them in Parliament. The candidates represented every section of the community—professional men of all classes, merchants, farmers, retired educationists, small' business men, workers* and members of the clergy*
