The Treasury closed its books at th« end of the fiscal year to-day with a deficit of 3,472,000,000d01, the Government having 'collected during the year only 52 cents, for every dollar spent. This compares with a deficit of 3,881,000,000dol in 1934. The public debt is now 29,000,000,000d0l in round figures^.
