BIG PROPERTY DEAL

SCHEME FOR 100 HOMES PLANNED SALE OF SHIEL'S QUARRY i The sale of 20 odd acres of land, comprising Shiel’s old quarry on the Upper side of Forbury road, was made to-day to Mr A. Joseph at a figure satisfactory to the parties concerned. The deal was put through by Mr J. O. Thomson, of Property Sellers Ltd., and it is the intention of the new owner to subdivide the area immediately and commence the construe*tion of about 100 homes. Before actual building commences, however, the area has to be roaded, channelled, and drained in accordance with the demands of the City Corporation and the Drainage Board, and this has to be carried out by the owner of the property. Messrs Stone and Stunner have been appointed architects for the preparation of designs and specifications to meet the requirements of prospective clients for new homes. Schemes such as these play an important part in absorbing unemployed tradesmen.
