jfr Pater Adair, the grand old man of Great Budworth, Cheshire, who is 88 years old, was busy for some hours one day recently on the ton of the 100 ft steeple of the village church. And ho cycled to the church. Mr Adair is the village painter, decorator, and general handyman, and also a churchwarden, Uecently it was noticed that the weather vane above the fourteenth century church was looking dowdy and needed a coat of naint. Steeple climbing, however, is a ticklish job, and it wa-s decided that only Mr Adair could do it-
