HOCKEY ATTRACTION The appearance of the Indian hockey players at Carisbrook next Saturday is the main topic of conversation in sporting circles at the present time, and the game with Otago'will undoubtedly provide the finest exposition of the stick game ever seen in Dunedin. The Indians are a world-famous combination, holders of the Olympic championship, and known as the most scientific exponents of hockey the game has | known. In positional play their understanding of one another is almost uncanny, their stick work is almost magical, and their ball control and general all-round ability are such that those in a position to express an opinion state this is the finest team of hockey players the world has known. At least 85 per cent, aro likely to be.playing at the 1936 Olympics at Berlin, and Dhyan Cl'iand is said to be the best player in the world to-day. Hockey of the best will be seen on Saturday, and in addition to the big game a women’s match between the New Zealand champions. Eastern Southland A (holders of the “ K.” Cup) 'and Otago (former holders) will be played. No fewer than five New Zealand representatives will i be taking part in this match, including I the captain (Mrs Hazel Reid) and the 1 deputy captain (Miss Ada Mackie). of I the team to tour Australia shortly.
