ITALY CHARGES 250 PER GENT. LONDON, May 18. Sir Percival Perry, chairman of the Ford Motor Company, speaking at the annual meeting of the company at Dagenham, pointed out that the M'Kenna duty on imported motor cars remained at 33 1-3 per cent, ad valorem, the same as when first imposed in 1915. Yet only in April duties on imported iron and steel were raised by more than 50 per cent. Meanwhile import barriers against British cars had loeen raised to prohibitive heights in France, Germany, and Italy. In Italy the ad valorem duty exceeded 250 per cent.
