General Goering and M, Laval had lunch with Colonel Beck (Polish Foreign Minister) at Cracow. It is believed that important discussions occurred, and the visit of M. Laval to Germany within the nest few weeks was arranged. M. Laval, Marshal Petain, and General Goering had a further talk in th» evening, and it is believed that they, discussed armaments, General Goering giving an account of the\ German air force. He also sketched Herr Hitler’s attitude towards current European affair*. CAPTAIN EDEN’S SPEECH SURPRISE IN GERMANY. BERLIN, May 17. The Press expressed pained surprise at Captain speech at Fulham on European difficulties'. It declares: “His illness must have obliterated his impressions of the tour because he could hardly have seen things in Berlin as wrongly as he represented them at Fulham.”
