OTAGO HUNT CLUB

MEET AT SEAVIEW The Seaview meet of the Otago Hunt Club on Saturday was held over the properties of Messrs W. Clark, J.

Day, J. R. Aburn, A. Sim, and R. Sim. The pack was released after the laying of the trail in one of Mr Clark’s paddocks. The first few jumps were rather difficult, and .were missed out by most followers, but a large number finished. The first jump was a post-and-rails, followed by another similar jump on a down grade which proved very difficult. Two gorse hedges led to a good gallop across country and further posts-and-rails. A large number of followers joined in here. Two gorse hedges led out on to the road and into Mr Sim’s property and the “ grand stand ” paddock. _ A gorse hedge was jumped twice, bringing the pack to a post-and-rails. a gorse hedge, a further difficult post-and-rails, and finally a gorse hedge to the kill. Some excellent jumping was witnessed over these. The honour of being first lady in at the kill fell to a very popular member, Mrs Dalziel. on Chrysler. A horse that created a great deal of interest was the Wifining Hit gelding Doiran. owned by Mr A. Mathieson and ridden by Mr B. Hastie. This horse was having its first qualification run, and jumped exceedingly well for a novice. ■

M'Kay (Mystic Prince). J. Mowat (Nugget), W. Watson (Jimmy), G. Vale-Hum-phries (Tor Toi), W. Tairoa (Silver King), S. M'Kay (Lady Lou), F. J. Bradley (Gracious Lady). J. Young (Royal Lady), B.
