TOUR OF KING COUNTRY
NATIVE MINISTER TO INSPECT 4 SCHEMES ' [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 17. The Hon. 11. Masters, Acting Native Minister, accompanied by Mr 0. N. Campbell, Acting Under-Secretary of Native Affairs, will leave to-morrow on a tour of inspection of the Native land development scheme* in the King country. The schemes in this area comprise Waimiha, Mahoenui, Oparure,- the Te Kuiti base farm, Oparau, and Kawlna. For some time past the Natives concerned in these schemes have expressed a desire that the Native Minister should visit them so that matters concerning development and their welfare will be discussed with him on the'spot. Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for the district, and the supervisors, of the_ various schemes will meet the Ministerial party at Taumarunui. , Mr Masters has accepted an invitation from Te Puea- Herangi to visit Ngaruawahia on Wednesday morning next, and will meet Waikato and Maori representatives from various parts of New Zealand who' will be. assembled there early next week.
