ENTERTAINMENT AT GREEN ISL/w'D George Bancroft is featured in ‘ Blood Money,” the Green Island Cinema’s cur rent headliner. He plays the role of Bailey, boss of the underworld of a great city—a power in politics, who names his own mayors, couneijmen, and district leaders. But when this crooked colossus crosses off the woman who started him on his road to success he learns how weak is his power. Bailey and Ruby have been partners in love and the bail bond racket for years, and they have also played fair and square until Bailey finds himself seriously interested in Elaine Talbert, a society girl, who delights in stealing in department stores for the thrill of it. Ruby’s
younger brother, Drury, is a nervy bank robber, with a way with the ladies. He decides to make a play for Elaine himself, and takes her from the older man without any difficulty. It’s a tremendous thrill to Elaine to be loved by a bank robber out on £IO,OOO bail, and when Drury decides td jump his bail, and entrusts her with delivering to Bailey the gold bonds put up for his bail and the destruction of £IOO,OOO in registered bonds, she;,gets a still bigger thrill in keeping the gold bonds and sending Bailey the registered bonds. What a serious, dangerous, exciting *mess this gets everyone in drives 1 Blood Money ’ on •to a furious climax. ‘ The Saddle Buster,’ the Tom Keene starring western, which is also showing, provides fast, exciting entertainment tor all ages. Here is a western that has no sheriff, no gun fights, and no wild chases. There are fights galore, but in them man is pitted against vicious bucking horses or his own fear.
