The interisland express steamer Rangatira reached Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 a.m. to-day. Passengers and mail for the south connected with the express. CAMBRIDGE LEAVES PANAMA. The Cambridge, which left Liverpool on April 21 for New Zealand, sailed from Panama on May 8. She is due at Auckland on May 31. ALDINGTON COURT CLEARS PANAMA. The Aldington Court, which left New York on May 2 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, cleared Panama on May 14. SHEAF HOLME FOR NEW,' ZEALAND. The Union Company has chartered the British motor ship Sheaf Holme to load at Pacific Coast ports in July for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. She is to clear Los Angeles on July 26, and is due at Auckland on August 24. The Sh<mf Holme has a gross tonnage of 4,811, and was built in 1929. DURHAM FROM LIVERPOOL. ; The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the new motor ship Durham is now due at this port on Tuesday morning from Liverpool via Auckland. Wellington, and Lyttelton. She will berth at Port Chalmers, where the local portion of her Home cargo will bo .discharged.
POET DAKWIN SiHS: The Port Darwin, after loading froeen meat and other products, left Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton to continue loading for New York and London. PERSONAL. Captain C. Sharpe has taken command of the Poolta, relieving Captain C. C. Waters for holidays. ■ Captain J. Ritchie is now master -of the Kaimai, relieving Captain F. W. Collins for further orders. Mr W. H. Millward has joined tha Maori as second officer, relieving Mr A. I). Knight for further orders. ■ Mr E. A. Cox joins the Waimarino as second officer at Auckland, relieving Mr S. E. Gaskin for holidays. Mr A. J. Kemp recently joined the Karepo as third officer, relieving Mr E. F. Rainbow for holidays. Captain A. H. Prosser recently resumed 'command of the Waimarino, relieving Captain H. W. Hender, who has rejoined the Narbada, vice Captain B. Harris, who is in Dunedin on leave. Mr R. Tulloch has joined the Totara a? chief officer recently, vice Mr A. H. Fisk, who is on sick leave. Mr T. E. Sevan, chief officer of th« Wahine, is at present on holidays at Wellington. • WAITAKI’S TRANSHIPMENTS. The Waitaki, en route from Melbourne to Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington, has transhipments from the Ormonde, Mongolia, Remo, Largs Bay, Talleyrand, Nieuw Zeeland,Clfangte, Comorin, and Ascania. She is due on Tuesday^ PACIFIC LINERS FOR OVERHAUL. The Pacific passenger liners Aorangi, Monterey,, and Mariposa are to undergo, their periodical overhaul and survey this year, the Aorangi in the Monterey in October, and the Mariposa in November. Before being overhauled the Royal Mail liner Aorangi will make an extended voyage from Vancouver and San Francisco to Melbourne, carrying a large number of delegates to the British Medical Association’s conference to be held in Melbourne. Already nearly all the vessel’s first-class accommodation has been booked for the voyage. She will leave Vancouver on August 12 and San Francisco on August 14 for Honolulu, Suva, Auckland, Sidney, and Melbourne. She is scheduled to leave Auckland on September 3, and reach Melbourne on September 9. From Melbourne she will return to Sydney for overhaul. During the overhaul she will he relieved by 4he Monowai,. which will leave Sydney for Vancouver via Auckland and Island porta on September.l2. . 4 - v TW Aorangi will, resume running again after the Monowai returns to Sydney from Vancouver on November 2, the Monowai then resuming in the intercolonial service; The Matson Line steamers Monterey and Mariposa will be relieved during their overhaul by their sister ship Lurline, which has visited Auckland on. a Pacific cruise with excursionists, but is now in the Honolulu-San Francisco service. The Mariposa will be withdrawn when she arrives at San Francisco on October 7, being replaced, by the Lurline, which will leave San Francisco on October 15 and Los Angeles on October 16 for Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne via, Maud ports. • , The Monterey’s overhaul will he completed by the time the Mariposa returns to San Francisco from Australia and New Zealand on November 4. and on November 12 the Monterey will resume running, the Mariposa being then withdrawn. , . .. The Lurline will return to San Francisco from Australia and New Zealand on December 2, and will then be withdrawn from the service, the Mariposa resuming in her place and leaving San Francisco on December 10.
