WAITAKI OLD BOYS
DUHEDIH BRANCH The sixth annaul report of the Dunedin branch of the Waitaki High School Old Boys’ Association states:— The membership of the branch now stands at 202, an increase of 18 on last year’s membership. One member has been transferred from another branch, while the remaining' 17 are new to the association. Of the members 90 are financial, while 112 were in arrears at April 30. Since that date a number of these outstanding subscriptions have been collected. The accounts show that the cash ballance stands at £53 17s" 9d. Capitation and magazine subscriptions, £l6 10s 9d, payable to the head association, was outstanding at the balance date. Upon payment the balance becomes £37 7s, as compared with £53 19s 8d 12 months ago. When allowance is made for £25, presented by the branch to the school, the position must be considered very satisfactory indeed. . Most of the subscriptions, which were in arrears at the end of last year have now been paid. Unfortunately 112 are outstanding for the year just passed. The annual hall was held on July 4 at the Tudor Hall, Savoy. Eighty-five couples were present, and enjoyed a very pleasant evening. The annual dinner last year was held on August 29, and 40 members met on this occasion. Representatives of kindred old boys’ associations were present at both functions, while members of the committee represented the association at similar functions held by M'Glashan Collegians, Christchurch Old Boys, and Otago Old Boys. Appreciation is expressed of the services rendered by Messrs Glendining, Myers, and Wylie on the Executive Council at Oamaru, and also the work of Mr A. T. Francis as honorary secretary of the branch.
