Sir Eric Drummond (British Ambassador) is expected in Loudon from Rome to-day to inform the Government of the developments in the Italian-Abyssinian situation. British circles consider it is Unnecessary ior the League Council to deal with the Abyssinian complaint at present in view of the establishment of a commission of conciliation.
According to the ‘ Daily Telegraph s Addis Ababa correspondent, Abyssinia justified her demand for immediate League action on the ground of Italy a contention that the inquiry must be confined to the Walwal frontier.
The ‘ Daily Express ’ publishes photographs of cases of (munitions being unloaded at Addis Ababa, and says that a consignment of 400 machine guns, 20,000 rifles, and 6,000,000 rounds of ammunition, the largest ever received in Ethiopia, is reported to have been forwarded from Belgium and Czechoslovakia.
