WEATHER FORECAST
SDIIALLY AND CHANGEABLE The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, covering the south' ern district —Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui; Winton. Invercargill, River* ton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:—■ Yesterday’s depression has now passed eastward, and a fresh one has advanced across the South Tasman Sea towards the south-west corner of the dominion, A spell of westerly weather is indicated. Forecast: Strong northerly winds to gales, backing soon to westerlies; weather squally and changeable, with rain j mild temperatures; seas rough. CALM AND OVERCAST. After a sunny day, a light rain fell last night, .02in being recorded. There was no frost, and this morning broke clear and fine, with a slight north-east wind blowing. At noon to-day the barometer was steady at 29.6 in, and the maximum temperature for the morning was 59deg, the minimum being Sl.ldeg. Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 60.5 deg, the highest reading for some time. The minimum for the 24 hour* was 46.8 deg.
