RUGBY Football? patrons should see two excellent games-at Cansbfpok to-morrow afternoon, when Southern. and Pirates . will meet at 3 p.nu The Southern have ■ ' an . unbeaten record so far this season, while Pirates. have had a drawn game with Taieri, and 'it will he remembered that : last year Pirates defeated Southern on the first occasion they met them. The Pirates have been v playing good' football, and though their team is. on -the light side, they-put plenty-of-dash into their play," and' the backs have given quite impressive displays on several; occasions. The Southern ;jbave. an exceedingly strong pack of forwards, while their backs have also been showing that they are capable of playing, bright, attractive football, and: several have been showing distinct promise. As a curtain-raiser Union will meet University A. The Union are a much improved side this season, and they put up'a good game against all their opponents so far, and are expected to make a good showing against the University A team. The public should witness two first-class games atCarisbrook to-morrow afternoon. In the event of Carisbrook not ,being fit for the cur-tain-raiser this match will then bo transferred to Tahuna Park, at 3 p.m. • At the Caledonian Ground ah interesting game should be witnessed between Kaikorai and Zingari. Kaikorai have a good all-round team, but, have -not performed quite up to expectations. No doubt, with a little more combination, they should weld into a good side. As a curtain-raiser the second grade match, Pirates v. Southern, will be played at ’ the , Caledonian Ground at 1.30 p.m,, and should also provide spectators with an interesting display. At the University Oval a well-con-tested game should be ■ witnessed between Taieri and University B, while Alhambra and Dunedin .will meet on the Opoho GroundOfficial Guides, containing full particulars regarding teams - and players and ■ interesting notes and 1 ., comments, will be on sale at the Otago.Sports.Depot, S. Jacobs’s, and at the - various grounds. BGCGER Both, matches at Logan Park bring together four of the leading teams in .this year’s Fletcher Cup competition, and spectators should witness _ bright and attractive football. ■ . r. At 1.30 Maori'Hill and Northern meet, and these old opponents can be relied on to make the game fast and exciting; Maori Hill are the only team so far to be-undefeated, but the north , end team, with their inherent faculty for .rising, to the occasion, can be expected to give:them.;a.very close game. Seac!iff*and Technical follow at 3 p.m., and with both fighting to, hold their positions on thedeague table another keen ■ and . exciting game should be on view. : Technical,, which won the cup last year, is striking form, but will be fully extended when up against, the Seacliff side, which comprises several players’ of experience ancf craftiness in football play.
