LONDON WOOL SALES LATE RATES MAINTAINED Press Association —Uy Telegraph—Copyright LONDON. May 15. (Received May 16, at 12.25 p.m.) At the wool sales 9,098 bales were offered, including 6,498 from New Zealand. A total of 7.722 bales of Australian and New Zealand was sold, New Zealand cross-breds forming the bulk ol the offerings, which sold well to home and Continental buyers. Late rates were fully maintained for all varieties. New Zealand greasy cross-bred. “Kobekohe,” top, IQld, average, 8d; half-bred lamb, shpe, CIM-Bel-fast,” 14-2 d and 13 5-Bd. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office, under date 15th inst.': ; — “ Sales continue with, a very strong market. Compared with the opening prices, ' cross-breds are id . to id Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. Ltd. have received. the following wool market' cablegram from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray, ajid Rider Ltd., dated 14th inst. Sales continue ..with a good tone, French buyers- operating very freely; greasy merino, wool suitable for the Continent, advanced 5 per cent.; greasy merino, other descriptions, market shows a hardening tendency; scoured merino, market irregular; oross-bred greasy, market shows a hardening tendency; cross-bred scoured, advanced 5 per cent.
