MUSHROOM AND TOMATO RELISH
Peeled mushrooms, 21b. Tomatos, 21b. Small onions, six. Sugar, 11b. Salt, one tablespoonful. Mixed spice, half a packet. Cayenne, half a teaspoonful (use less cayenne unless like things very hot). Vinegar, one and a-half pints. Method: Blanch and skin the tomatoes, cut them in slices. Peel and cut up the onions finely. Boil all together for one and a-half hours, then bottle and seal up the jars.
