MOSGIEL DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL
Outside of school hours the pupils of the Mosgiel District High School, aided by their 'parents and friends, are very busy running entertainments such as garden parties, concerts, and dances to rake money for school funds. Each department of the school has its own particular form of entertainment. On Saturday last the secondary department held a successful garden party in the school grounds. A concert was held in the Coronation Hal! last night, when the pupils of Mr James Simpson supplied an entertaining programme. 1 The programme was as follows: Bagpipe selection, Piper Peter Davidson ; soprano solo, Mrs E. Searle; baritone solo (‘Bonnie Dundee’), Mr G. Simpson.; humorous recitation. Miss Nan M‘Koe; contralto solo (‘The Old Refrain’), Miss Eva Fawcett; cornetsolo (‘For You Alone’), Mr Arthur Bolton; solo (‘A Brown Bird Singing’), Master Herbert Claridge; soprano solo (‘ Angels Guard Thee ’), Miss Nan M‘Kee; soprano solo (‘A Crown ’), Mrs E. Searle; flute solo, Mr F. Bell; baritone solo (‘ The Company Sergeant-major’), Mr G. Simpson; humorous recitation, Miss Nan M‘Kee ; solo (‘ Hark, Hark, the Lark ’), Master Herbert Claridge; violin solo (‘Scotch Selection’), Miss Mavis M'Cormack; contndtw solo (‘ 0 Dry Those Tears ’) Miss Eva Fawcett (with ’cello obbligatc Mr Lloyd Hunter) ; tenor solo (‘ Bonnie Wee Thing’), Mr James Simpson; bagpipe selection.
