LAURIER, PORT CHALMERS

With ono of tho most imposing casts that one could wish, ‘ Stand Up and Cheer ’ opened to-day at the Laurier, Port Chalmers. Among the many celebrated players taking part in this production are Madge Javans, Ralph Morgan, Shirley Temple, Nigel Bruce, Arthur Byron, John Boles, and Stepin Fetchit. In the supporting cast arc a number of famous entertainment personalities, among whom arc Sylvia Froos, .Jimmy Balias, “ Aunt Jemima,” Mitchell and Durant, and Nick Foran. The story is that of a Broadway theatrical producer who is called upon by the President to help restore prosperity by reviving the spirits of the people through a gigantic amusement campaign. With the cream of the entertainment crop at his disposal, the producer puts on display- the most lavish amusement units ever produced.
