CROMWELL RETURNED SOLDIERS
Revival of interest in the affairs of returned soldiers was evidenced by the enthusiastic meeting of local men held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening. Mr L. J. Anderson presided, and arrangements were made for the sale of poppies on Poppy Day, April 12. Mr L. J. Anderson was re-elected chairman, and Mr J. L. Stewart Wright was elected hon. secretary, and a general committee consisting of Messrs H. T. Wilkinson, P. Hosting, F. Gibson, A. Ree, J. W. Clark, S. Taylor, E. A. Cowey, M. Hotop, and C. Betts was appointed. It was decided that the Anzac Day service be held in the Athenaeum Hall, to be followed with the laying of wreaths ceremony at the memorial grounds. Arrangements for the services were left iu the hands of the chairman and secretary, and it was decided to ask the Dunedin Association to supply a speaker for the occasion.
