The petrol ran short and she decided to land in an open space, which proved to be Kafir corn, which clogged the undercarriage and the plane overturned. Natives supplied food. When the machine overturned shd and Dr Kirby were both temporarily stunned. Later they struggled through the dense jungle and lion and mosquito-infested country until they reached a locust rangers’ camp in an exhausted condition. They are now little the worse for the adventure.
