THE GOLDFIELDS DREDGE The secretary of the Goldfields Dredging Company, Ltd., reports that there was no wash-up this week, as the dredge is at present opening up a new cut. KING SOLOMON RETURN The returu at the King Solomon mine this week totalled 660 z i dwt. ALEXANDER MINES REPORT The followig is the Alexander Mines report for the month of February; — No. 4 north drive level has now been driven to 238 ft north of crosscut. The face shows only country rock. A crosscut has been put on the eastern side of the level for 30ft without disclosing anything of value. On the western side a crosscut has been driven 12ft and passed through a reef track carrying small boulders of stone. This appears to be the main reef track, but displaced to the westward. Driving No, 4 south level has started again with the view to locating stone which has been traced down from the intermediate above. The stone is 4ft in ■width and shows gold. The stone is exceptionally hard. In a crosscut above this level this stone is 3ft in width and shows gold freely. Stoping has been carried on as usual in No. 4 backs. The eastern portion of the block is nearly all taken out, but the western portion is still lengthening northwards.
