UPSETS OWN CONCLUSION SPACE MAY. BE INFINATE. NEW YORK, January 7. : Professor Einstein has upset one of the most important conclusions based on his own theory of relativity. _ . He told the American Association for the Advancement of Science, meeting in Pittsburg, that the Universe might be infinite after all. He explained that it all depended on the curvature of space and, at first, nobody could be certain whether this curvature was positive or negative. Asked whether it might be ever possible to convert matter into energy for practical purposes, Professor, Einstein said: “I am no prophet, but I feel it is impossible. It would involve bombarding atoms—something like shooting at birds in the dark in a country where there are only a few birds.”
