CONDITIONS ON THE BEACHES Beaches will be in fair condition fop the week-end, though the temperature of the water will be cool unless the. heat of the sun is unaffected by wind* Throughout both afternoons the tide will b© coming in, as it will be low, water around 2 o’clock. Nevertheless, bathers are warned to exercise care and- to bathe • within the flagged sections of the surf. St. Clair beach is in good order, the sand Having levelled off satisfactorily during the past week, and there now being an absence of the holes there were last week-eiyi. The temperature is fair, and currents are not particularly noticeable. St. Kilda beach is in fair order fop bathing, the sea being mild in temperature and very smooth. There are a few shallow holes, and a slight rip toward St. Clair. Tomahawk Beach is in first-class order for bathing, a smooth surf being unaffected by backwash. The temperature is mild.
