SOUTH TOPS NORTH TOTAL [Pi* United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 9. The North-South cricket match was resumed in brilliant sunshine, Hadlee being Moloney’s new partner. The bowlers were Blundell and Cowie. In the first hour’s play this morning the South reached North’s score of 212 with two wickets in hand. Two minutes later, with 213 up, Jackman was caught behind the bowler off Blundell. 213-9-3. Moloney batted for twenty-eight minutes after to-day’s resumption, and scored seventy runs, when, he chopped down on Blundell for Cowie at silly-leg, to hold a simple catch. 175 for 7. Maloney hit 5 fours, but gave two chances, at 1 and 27, besides making two uppish strokes just clear of fieldsmen off one of Tricklebank’s overs. At 189 Vivian replaced Blundell, who relieved Tricklebank at the north end, O’Brien scoring a boundary and a brace off the over. At 210 O’Brien was caught at silly-leg by Tricklebank off ■Cowie.
