LITTLE AMERICA REACHED

THE BEAR OF OAKLAND LOADING OPERATIONS BEGUN Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LITTLE AMERICA, January 21. The Bear of Oakland arrived yesterday, bringing a very welcome mail to the expedition. She is now moored alongside the ice, seven miles from the camp. Reloading for her return is already under way. On the 450-mile sail along the front of the Ross lee Barrier from Cape Crozier, Captain English made the extraordinary discovery that the Great Barrier moves half a mile every' year, nearly the whole of its winding length. It is now about twelve miles northward from the position fixed during the Terra Nova survey in 1911. As the Bear appeared jn sight a blast of dynamite was exploded in welcome.
