Twelve-year-old Cynthia Wilson, whose head and face were so badly smashed in a motor accident that the nurses prayed for her death, has been restored to her normal appearance by Sir Harold Gillies, a New Zeajander. “ Jt i§ one of the finest jobs Sir Harold has done,” said counsel at Bucks Assizes, which granted the girl £I,OOO damages and costs. [Sir Harold Gillies, who is plastic surgeon to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, was born in Dunedin in 1882.]
