GAY ROMANTIC COMEDY

MAYFAIR'S NEW ATTRACTION Although they had both spent considerable time touring the ' capitals of Europe making concert appearances, neither Ramon Novarro nor Jeanette MacDonald had met until they were introduced at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios preparatory to making ‘ The Cat and the Fiddle.’ The picture, which commences at the Mayfair Theatre to-morrow, was nearly six months in the making, with elaborate care and attention paid to all details. Even after the stars had commenced work in new pictures, Navarro in ‘Laughing Boy’ and'Miss MacDonald in ‘ The Merry Widow ’ with Maurice Chevalier, further sequences were added. The original musical score, with six entirely new song hits, has been retained intact for the production.
