HEW YEAR TOURNAMENT ___ \ Excellent 1 conditions prevailed for the opening of the St. Glair Golf Club’s fourth annual New Year tournament, when the play consisted of two qualifying rounds (stroke play) for the Dunedin amateur championship and the Otago junior amateur championship. A large field took part, and many excellent scores were returned, but the best effort, of the day was produced by A. Lawrence (St. Clair), whose card of 68 in the second round was three strokes ahead of the next best scores on the day’s play. DUNEDIN CHAMPIONSHIP.
