YUGOSLAVIA

REGENT FORMING NEW GOVERNMENT CONSULTATION WITH OPPOSITION LEADERS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright BELGRADE, December 19. The Government has resigned, and Prince Paul is attempting to form a broader-based Government, including Opposition leaders. It is regarded as significant that Prince Paul’s first action was to summon a' consultation with M. Stanoyevitch, the veteran leader of the Serbian Radicals, who has been an opponent of a royal dictatorship, and Father Iverqshetz, the Slovene leader, who until recently was interned. These and other circumstances confirm Prince Paul s known intention at tho first oppdrtunity to secure the formation of a Gdvernmeiit with a broader basis. If this is accomplished, it will possibly lead to an easing of the internal situation by a liberal attitude towards the Croats, besides a more peaceful attitude towards Hungary and better relations with Italy. EXPULSION OF HUNGARIANS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 19. (Received December 20, at noon.) Sir John Simon stated in reply to a question in the House of Commons that mass expulsions of Hungarian refugees from Yugoslavia ceased more than a week ago, and, though a limited number of deportations would seem to have taken place since for reasons which could not be stated with certainty, the majority of them were the result of the normal application of the Yugoslav aliens regulations. -
