FORESTERS

The fortnightly meeting of Court Pride of Dunedin was presided over by, C.R. Bro, C. G.. Payton, and there was a good attendance of members. Two candidates were initiated. Taylor; minute secretary, W. G. M'Dowell: trustee, R. Taylor; auditor,. F. C. Nicholls. M.S. Bro. S. B. Brettell responded on'behalf of 1 Court Enterprise to the toast of “ Our Visitors.’’ An official visit was received from the juvenile‘branch. Following the meeting the annual children’s evening was held,' and the popularity of this function was again evident from the large attendance of children and their parents, the hall being taxed to its holding capacity. An attractive programme had been arranged by Bro. Baxter, the following supplying items:—Misses Asta Bridges and Nancy Garbutt, pianoforte, solos; Misses Joyce Cardno, Nancy Carrodus, and Peggy Shore, .songs;] Misses Dawson and Finnerty, vocal duet; Miss Betty Brien, song and tap dance; Misses Dorothy Payton, Ruth Thompson, Sanderson, lona Livingstone, and Robert Taylor, recitations:] Miss Gwen Webster’s pupils, toylands scena; Miss Dorothy Baxter, sword dance; Miss Millie Baxter, scan triubhais; and Miss Margie Baxter, sailor’s hornpipe. Father Christmas paid his usual visit and distributed gifts to the children. _ The hall was tastefully decorated with coloured lights, streamers, greenery, and flowers. Supper, including ice creams and sweets, finished the evening’s entertainment.
