Jgenerally, the practice was unfair to visiting nlavers, who were at sufficient disaclvantage in having to bowl on an unfamiliar green. Tie fault, it was said, lav in the drawing by some home skips of their rinks before the arrival of the. visitors, , although it was the case with the majority of clubs to hold the draw only in the presence of all players, it had been agreed. in the . past that it was only sporting to permit visitors to have a practice roll-up before a match, and, although that had been departed from to a certain degree, it should oe strictlv the case, delegates contended. A motion to the effect that there should be no practising immediately before a match was defeated, and an amendment that the matter be reqpened at the next full meeting of delegates was carried. TOURNAMENT PLAYERS. What , members were eligible to compete in a tournament? Mr Nelson asked. The rules stipulated that in a local tournament a rink must consist of four. But in regard to pairs there was nothing definite in the rules providing that both inembers must belong to the same club.
