FORESTERS

Tho fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room, Unity Chambers, Stuart street, on Tuesday last, C.R. Bro. J. Dey presiding, all officers being present except tho treasurer (P.C.R. Bro. Alex. M'Leod), who is still laid up. There was a good attendance of members. The Woodward’s report being again very favourable on the sick members. One maternity claim was passed for payment. The usual Christmas donation was passed for the caretaker (Mr A. Foster) for the manner in which ho looked after the wants of Court Enterprise. One candidate was initiated into the order with the usual formalities, P.C.R. Bro. D. Mercer taking the second part And S.C.R. Bro. E. M'Aulay welcomed the now brother with the Foresters’ toast. Two more propositions were received for tho next court meeting. A letter was received from Bro. Craig, now’ residing in Wellington, again offering a trophy for the member introducing the greatest number of financial members for 1935. The secretary was instructed to write to Bro. Craig, thanking him for his kind offer. Secretary Bro. W.- M. Hogg notified the members that the court had initiated forty-one new members for the year 1934, P.C.R. Bro. Brcttell having introduced twenty-two of them ; therefore he won the trophy. He had four more on the books for the coming year. For the second prize (donated by Bro. Hogg) three members were equal, and 1 it was decided to let them carry on for another three months. Bros. Sid White and T. Cockburn spoke at length re their trips to Australia during the Centenary celebrations, and advised s all young members who could see their way clear to do so to make the trip. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the two brothers for their report. P.C.R. Bro. Brettell reported on the visit to Court Woodland’s Pride and Court Pride of Dunedin’s children’s evening. C.R. Bro. J. Dey and I.P.C.R. Bro. D. Mercer were granted leave of absence for next court night. P.D.O.R. Bi-o. W. Ibbotson and P.C.R. Bro. R. Hender-

son offering to fill the vacancies for that night. The C.R. wished all members the compliments of the season and prosperity in the coming year. 1.P.C.11. Bro. D.. Mercer, on behalf oflthe officers and members, wished the C.R. the compliments of the season.
