CUBAN JOURNALISTS

FORGED TO DRINK OIL . Press Association—By Telegraph —Copyright HAVANA (Cuba), December 12. Men armed with machine guns and pistols raided the editorial rooms of the anti-Government newspaper ‘ Action to-night, and forced several writers and editors to accompany them to the outskirts of the city, where they were forced to drink castor oil. The President (Senor Carlos Mendieta) was bearing down throughout Cuba to forestall another revolutionary outbreak, as rumours of an impending revolt spread over the island. There is no direct information that the editorial abduction was part of the programme, but the victims said they believed that the abductors were members of the secret police.
