NEW YORK, November 28. ) Tbs prospect of another of America s »ost famous gangsters going to gaol foi income tax evasion rather than through conviction for a whole variety of crimes which he is known to have committed, was strengthened when Arthur (“Dutch Schultz”) Flegcnheimer, a well-known New York beer runner, ■urrendered to the Federal authorities to-day after having been in hiding for almost two years. Schultz, to Whose fang many killings have been laid, is nown to have engaged in a wide variety of illegal and criminal activities, from surreptitious lotteries to murder for hire. He has been arrested five times, but found guilty only once, for disorderly conduct, with sentence suspended. He paid no income tax, though his earnings amounted to millions.
THE DILLINGER GANG CTJNMAN FOUND DEAD ON ROADSIDE. CHICAGO, November 28. George Nelson, the gangster, was found dead by the roadside to-day. Apparently he was killed by the Justice Department agents and thrown out of the automobile by his companions when they discovered that his wounds were fatal. [Two Federal agents who were huntBig the last remnants of the Dillinger gang were attacked by two gunmen in an- automobile on a suburban road. One has been tentatively identified as George (“Baby Face”) Nelson, a former lieutenant of the late John Dillinger. In a furious exchange of gunfire, one of the agents was killed and the other was seriously wounded. The gangsters escaped. The wounded agent participated in the killing of Dillinger.] '
