FIGHT WITH FEDERAL AGENTS ONE MAN KILLED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright CHICAGO, November 27. Two Federal agents who were hunting for the last remnants of the Dillinger gang were attacked by two gunmen in an automobile on a suburban road. One was tentatively identified as George (“ Baby Face ”) Nelson, formerly Dillinger’s lieutenant. In a furious exchange of gunfire one of the agents was killed and the other seriously wounded. The gangsters escaped. The wounded agent participated in the killing of Dillinger.
