EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
GREAT GATHERING IN MELBOURNE NEW ZEALANDERS ARRIVE ,/ Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, November 28. Two ships from New Zealand (the Wanganella and the Marama) and one from Britain arrived to-day, carrying the vanguard of archbishops, bishops, priests, and laymen for the Eucharistic Congress. The principal New Zealanders were Bishops Liston (Auckland) and Broclie (Christchurch), Fathers J. A. Kennedy and J. Long, and Dr L. T..Buxton. Among the New Zealand laymen was Mr P. J. Amodeo, of Christchurch. The Maheno, which is due on Friday, is bringing many more. A great eucharistic procession, about which there has been much controversy, will take place on Sunday, December 9, the opening day of the congress. About 40,000 people are expected to take part in the march.
