SAFER DRIVING
SCHOOL FOR DELINQUENTS The Sail Francisco Traffic Law Enforcement; Board is sponsoring a scheme under which drivers who have not reached the age of eighteen and who have offended against traffic laws will have to pass a course of study before they can have their drivers’ license restored. The proposed school would be conducted in co-operation with the Police Department. Traffic Court, and public safety department of the State Automobile Association. Such schools are already in operation in Oakland, just across the way, Los Angeles, and other places. Under the proposed plan offenders would be required to attend four two-hour sessions of the Traffic School on successive Saturday mornings. Failure to appear would he penalised by requiring the offender to attend, an additional number of sessions. Lessons wbuld be given by officers of the Traffic Bureau and would be r based on the Californian Vehicle Act. The students would ■ be required l to .passwritten tests with an average of ,75 per cent.-i-of marks before becoming eligible-for a license!
