The Strathaird, one, of the largest and fastest liners in the passenger trade, has left Sydney for Brisbane, whence she will depart at the beginning of next week on a pleasure cruise for New Zealand. Passengers numbering 860 were picked up at Australian ports, and they will disembark at Auckland on November;- 2-3, fejmriing’Hhe' vessel thre& ’ days"' 2: later ; at ■Wellington. A large proportion -have already arranged tours in New Zealand, and officers, of the JCew Zealand 'publicity department who are on board will arrange further trips en route. Three -other similar cruises will takeplace this summer. ■ Mr L. J. Schmitt (New Zealand Trade Commissioner) paid a courtesy call on the captain of the Strathaird this afternoon on behalf of the New Zealand Government, and expressed best wishes: for a good trip.
