THE STRATHAIRD'S PLEASURE CRUISE DEPARTURE FOR NEW ZEALAND Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ' SYDNEY, November 16. The Strathaird, one, of the largest and fastest liners in the passenger trade, has left Sydney for Brisbane, whence she will depart at the beginning of next week on a pleasure cruise for New Zealand. Passengers numbering 860 were picked up at Australian ports, and they will disembark at Auckland on November;- 2-3, fejmriing’Hhe' vessel thre& ’ days"' 2: later ; at ■Wellington. A large proportion -have already arranged tours in New Zealand, and officers, of the JCew Zealand 'publicity department who are on board will arrange further trips en route. Three -other similar cruises will takeplace this summer. ■ Mr L. J. Schmitt (New Zealand Trade Commissioner) paid a courtesy call on the captain of the Strathaird this afternoon on behalf of the New Zealand Government, and expressed best wishes: for a good trip.
