CELEBRATIONS AT PORTLAND GREAT PAGEANT OH MONDAY Press Association —By Telegraph Copyright MELBOURNE, November 16. Though the Centenary celebrations have been in progress for many weeks, Monday will be the real Centenary ay. One hundred years ago the Henty family landed at Portland, and celebrations have been in progress there this week. Many events of ; local importance will culminate in a great pageant on Monday in the presence of the Duke of Gloucester. Rehearsals for the pageant were held to-day, even to driving bullocks through the streets to accustom them to the commotion which is expected to prevail oa Monday. Ushering in Victoria’s new century, a ring of bonfires girdling the State will be lit on Monday night, and there will be displays of fireworks in every town,' large and small.
