WAKARI SCHOOL
There was a scene of great activity in Waraki last Saturday afternoon, the occasion being the opening of a new sports ground recently acquired lor the school. Races were held for children as well as for adults, the prizes for the latter being donated by local tradespeople. Every child received a gift of fruit, sweets, and nuts. During ; afternoon tea tho opportunity was j taken to present to the school football j team tbo B Grade Soccer Cup, won j during the past season. Mr P. Ram- j age, in making the presentation, congratulated tbo team and its coach, Mr D. Harnciss, on their .success. Two football learns of boys played a short game, and to conclude the afternoon a cricket match was played between a team of boys and an adult team. In the evening an enjoyable fancy dress dance jva§ held in the school
