THE OCTOBER RETURNS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 14. (Received November 15, at 10 a.m.) The Board of Trade returns for October show that the imports amounted to £68,933,000, the exports to £36,748,000, and the re-exports to £4,000,000. The principal increases compared with October, 1933, were: —lmports: Grain and flour, £564,000; beverages and cocoa preparations, £442,000; tobacco, £2,608,000: non-ferrous and metalliferous ores, £348,000; wood and limber. £701,000; rubber, £1,468,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £677,000. Exports: Iron and steel and manufactures thereof, £480,000; machinery, £620,000; cotton yarns and manufactures, £332,000; vehicles, £310,000. The principal decreases were:—lmports: Living animals for food, £343,000; fresh fruit and vegetables, £334,000; raw wool, £747,000; hides and skins, £269,000; leather, £227,000. Exports: Non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £237,000.
FURTHER DETAILS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 14. (Received November 15, at noon) The Board of Trade returns for October show that the imports were valued at £68,993,589 against the September’s total of £57,738,498 and that the exports amounted to £36,748,545 against £33,957,248 for the previous month. The figures for the re-exports were £4,001,668 last mouth and £3,249,836 in September. The figures for October last year werelmports £61,165,614; exports £34,120,986; reexports £4,571,005. For the ten months of the current year the imports show increases over 1933 of £56,174,518 and the exports represent an increase over the previous year of £23,228,309.
